IJIMP is a duo featuring Carl Rathus on shakuhachi and Ravikesh
Singh on tabla. IJIMP recorded this album in Varanasi, India, in
collaboration with Anand Mishra on sitar, Shantawana Mishra on vocals
and Shibu Mishra on sarangi. The music was directed by the great tabla
Maestro Pt. Ishwar Lal Mishra. The pieces are all improvisations. They are based on North and/or south Indian ragas and Japanese folk tunes. Vocals are arranged by Shantawana.
